I fell in love with animation when I was 6 years old. I was amazed by the magic that makes drawings, come to life. After many years of traditional Art education, I decided to pursue my dream and studied Animation at the Ringling School of Art and Design. I graduated with honors, and produced my student thesis film ‘This Side Up’. The film won the Ringling’s Presidents Award, and was showcased in many festivals around the world.
I had the great opportunity to be selected by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Science, for an Animation internship at Sony Pictures Imageworks. After graduation I continued as Sony Imageworks as a character Animator on Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. I was then offered to join Dreamworks Animation and to work on some of their most exciting projects, such as the ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ franchise, ‘The Croods’ and the ‘Kung Fu Panda’ franchise, where I was a character lead for Master Oogway.
With the recent launch of DreamWorks short films, I got to write the story and co-direct the short film ‘Bilby’ along with Pierre Perifel and JP Sans. We are premiering in June of 2018 in the Animation Festival Annecy in France, and soon after in the Palm Springs Festival in the US.
Besides animating, I also enjoy teaching animation, and passing on the knowledge and experience I got on my journey. In the past few years, I have been teaching animation at Frame By Frame Animation online, and have been a guest speaker, around the world, including SIGGRAPH, Bogota Colombia, and Nemo Academy, Florance Italy. Also, I have been teaching at the Dreamworks training department as well as mentoring at Ringling School of Art and Design.
